FELLOW COWBOY ACTION SHOOTERS- PLEASE JOIN US FOR WOMEN OF THE WEST SHOOT!

Howdy all,

We are happy to invite you to join us for the Women of the West - Clinic & Shoot. Thursday September 18th we are putting on a Women’s Shooting Clinic. We would like to give our lady shooters a chance to work on their shooting skills, in a positive women focused environment. Thursday afternoon everyone is invited to attend the Side Clinics. Here we will hone specific aspects of Cowboy Action Shooting- like improving our sight acquisition, sighting in our rifles and pistols, shotgun patterning, and more. Friday morning the 19th we’ll shoot the first 4 stages of the Main Match. Friday afternoon our Side Clinics will focus on ways to save seconds, the SASS Shooter Handbook tips and tricks for faster times, tips for hitting clay targets, and more. There will also be the Side Matches. A little different then the traditional Side Matches, but then again this whole event is going to be a little different. We’ll have the Tallywacker Challenge, the KRR Ore Cart, Annie Oakley Challenge, Speed Pistol, Speed Rifle with a little twist, and the KRR 4 Gun Blast. We’ll end the day with a Tri Tip/Chicken Potluck. Saturday the 20th we’ll shoot the last 4 stages of the Main Match. That evening we will have potluck dinner, raffle and awards. All entrants are welcome to stay for Sunday’s monthly KRR match – all WotW entrants can shoot with us for free Sunday.

Ladies we often have a chance to learn from the guys, but sometimes women just wanna learn and shoot with our fellow women shooters. Women have a unique way of teaching, and some of us have unique way’s of shooting that just work best for us. We want to give women shooters a great opportunity to fine tune their abilities and maybe learn something new. The skills taught at the clinic will be touched on again in the Side Clinics and in the stages we shoot during the match. Thursday morning’s Clinic will be followed by a one-on-one shooting assessment. Our instructors will watch you shoot a stage and give you suggestions on way’s you can shoot better. My goal is for everyone to leave with notes, tips and information they can use for a long time to come. But specifically I’d like every woman to find 2-3 things they can work on over the next months and improve their shooting. Maybe after that start on the next items suggested, or just drill down on your muscle memory so you shoot through stages smooth as silk. Just as I hope this event will improve and grow each year, I’d love for our ladies to get better and better each year.

GENTLEMEN! You are not forgotten. We love our cowboys and all they do for us on and off the shooting range. We would love it if you join us for the Side Clinics, Side Matches, Main Match, Potlucks and Awards. While we’re at the Clinic Thursday morning, we will have bays open for you to practice your shooting/transitions/reloads, a bay with a chronograph set up if you’d like to test out the power factor in any round recipes you’re trying out, and a bay will be set up if you’d like to sight in your guns with bore sights. Or you’re welcome to just take it easy and join us for the afternoon activities.

COUPLES: we will have separate Men’s and Women’s posses for the Main Match, and understand that poses a problem with gun carts. We will have extra gun carts available if needed. For those who will split gun carts with friends, we appreciate your flexibility. Ladies if you are uncertain about shooting a match without your partner we will have people available to help with any questions, stage assistance, or gun malfunctions. We want to help you feel comfortable shooting. Cowboy Action Shooters have a well earned reputation for being friendly and helpful, it isn’t an imposition to ask for help.
